Custom Backyard Putting Greens

Practice your short game any day of the week, right outside your back door. We design and install custom artificial putting greens for homes and businesses across Montgomery County and Harris County. Options run from a single-cup practice green to a multi-hole green with fringe, a chipping area and real breaks. Every green is built on a compacted decomposed granite base, and the speed can be adjusted to how fast you want it to roll.

Why Put a Green in Your Backyard

  • Practice anytime. No tee times and no drive to the course.
  • Work on the shots that count. Putting and chipping, a few steps from the house.
  • Entertain at home. Family putting contests and something for guests to do.
  • No mowing or watering. It stays green and smooth year round.
  • A better-looking yard. A custom green adds a finished feature to the landscape.

Putting Green Features

Fringe & Chipping Areas

A longer turf collar around the green, plus a chipping area for practicing approach shots onto it.

Multiple Cups & Flags

Add as many holes as the space allows, with flags, so every putt plays differently.

Built-In Breaks & Adjustable Speed

We shape slopes and contours into the base for real break, and the green speed can be adjusted to how fast you want it to roll.

How We Build a Putting Green

  1. Design. We lay out the shape, cup locations and chipping area to fit your yard.
  2. Excavation and shaping. We dig out the area and shape the slopes that create your breaks.
  3. Compacted decomposed granite base. We lay and compact the base in layers, adding drainage when and where it’s needed.
  4. Putting turf, fringe and cups. We install the putting surface, the fringe and the cups and flags.
  5. Speed set. We set the green to the speed you want.

What a Putting Green Costs

Backyard putting greens typically run $10 to $20 per square foot installed. Where yours falls depends on the size, how many cups you add, the fringe and chipping areas, and how much base shaping the breaks need. The on-site estimate is free, and financing is available. See our artificial turf cost guide.

Warranty

Your turf carries a 15-year manufacturer warranty, and our installation carries a 2-year labor warranty.

Caring for Your Putting Green
